Vogue 8685 Summer dress

Last week, before buying my new sewing machine I decided to try out a new vogue pattern.

Designed for stretch fabric I made it using some purple viscose jersey from my stash. It had more stretch than the pattern needed, so I omitted the zip. Had read this on other reviews too.

It was a great easy sew, which I did almost entirely on my overlocker. The only bit that I used a normal straight stitch was for the small edge pieces on the lower part of the arm hole.

The dress had two nice wide yokes, which will work well for colour blocking.

Pattern has lots of option, long and short sleeves, flared and straight skirts. Looking forward to making others from the same pattern.
